care

Powder Brows

Avoid placing your face directly into the shower for the first week. You can gently wash your face throughout your healing process. It is important to keep all areas clean and free of bacteria until completely healed. No direct tanning or sunlight. Avoid tanning beds or sunless tanners. Stay away from any form of salt like salt water pools, salty gulf water, and sweating. Avoid high bacteria scenarios like saunas, steam rooms, makeup products, or touching the pigmented area with your hands. Never use topical antibiotics like neosporin.

Lip Blush

Avoid salty foods, extended wear lipsticks & plumping gloss while healing. Avoid teeth bleaching for at least 3 weeks. For day 1 & 2, avoid licking your lips, getting your lips wet and heavy kissing. Avoid rubbing your lips together. No picking.

Paramedical

Avoid allowing the pigmented area to be in direct contact with the air for longer than 15 minutes for the first 14 days. The area must be sealed Day 1-7, and then covered with guaze Day 7-14.

first three days of healing

Caring for your facial PMU requires a dry healig process. In summary, gently wash the area, keep clean, and apply Aquaphor on day three only.

The purpose is to remove clear lymphatic fluid

Shower as usual; but do not place your face directly into the water

  • Gently wash the pigmented area with mild soap & water using fingertips 1-2 times per day with Cerave or gentle Vanicream cleanser

The area may feel dry or chapped but refrain from lotion or oils to the area.

  • Repeat washing

You may now apply grapeseed oil or Aquaphor 2x per day.

    Peeling or sloughing may occur

Please do not pick or rub your pmu

FAQ

Does PMU hurt?

No, the permanent brow service at Bitty Beauty is known for the gentleness that we provide. Our PMU Artists work within the upper dermal layer of the skin (the Papillary layer) which has minimal nerves and vessels. Therefore, there is zero to minimal discomfort and bloodless during our services! The comfort of the client is primarily due to the quality of the Permanent Makeup Artists technique - if an artist works too deep in the skin (within the reticular or hypodermic), there can be problems with healing, discomfort, or scar tissue. The PMU Artists at Bitty Beauty are highly trained in quality technique to ensure client comfort, longevity, and overall satisfaction.

FAQ

How long does the appointment take?

Please do not wax or pluck your brows before your Permanent Brow appointment. We like to have as much brow hair to work with as we apply the Permanent Makeup.

Should I pluck or wax before my appointment?

There is minimal to zero downtime after receiving Permanent Brows at Bitty Beauty. Our services heal extremely quickly since we work within the proper layer of the skin through our unique and gentle technique. We want our clients to avoid high bacteria scenarios to avoid infection. Also, we prefer our clients to avoid HEAVY sweating (light perspiration is okay). Last, we want our clients to avoid certain products such as Retin - A, Glycolic Acid and/or chemical peels since these will cause the skin to actively exfoliate while the PMU is healing in the skin. Please refer to the aftercare instructions

What is the downtime?

Permanent Brows take 2.5 - 3 hrs to perform the service. The Permanent Makeup Artist will measure, map the bone structure, customize the brow color and apply the color at the appointment.
